Sillimanite Brick

Sillimanite bricks are high-alumina refractory products incorporating a controlled proportion of sillimanite and other trace elements. Manufactured through high-pressure forming and high-temperature sintering, they are also known as “three-stone” products alongside andalusite and kyanite-based refractories.

    Introduction

    Sillimanite bricks are manufactured by adding a specific proportion of sillimanite and other trace elements to high-alumina formulations. During high-temperature service, sillimanite converts to mullite, creating a microstructure that delivers excellent thermal shock resistance and significantly improved creep performance. These properties make sillimanite bricks particularly effective in blast furnace stacks, hot blast stoves and torpedo car critical zones. Available in JH-GXS-60 and JH-GXS-65 grades. The products are widely recognized as a superior alternative to conventional high-alumina bricks in demanding high-temperature applications.

    Withstands 20 to 25 cycles of 1100℃ water-cooling tests, preventing cracking and spalling under rapid temperature fluctuations.

    High Load Softening Temperature
