The tundish refractory solution previously used by Shaoguan Iron and Steel (SGIS) suffered from inconsistent quality, severe sintering, poor installation and drying performance, and difficult dismantling—all of which disrupted production.
In 2018, JHR began providing a total contracting solution for their tundish lining system, covering the supply and installation of refractories for the permanent lining, working lining, weirs, dams, and impact pads, as well as the fabrication of working lining molds. Throughout the contract period and upon material delivery, all batches underwent rigorous testing, and all technical specifications met the contractual requirements, with favorable application results. The client has summarized the performance of JHR’s tundish refractories as follows:
- JHR’s tundish refractories fully comply with the contract specifications in all indices and deliver reliable in-service performance.
- JHR’s installation team demonstrates excellent workmanship, ensuring high-quality tundish lining construction and effectively resolving any on-site challenges.
- JHR’s dry vibratable materials offer superior workability—they can be easily placed without slumping, show virtually no cracking after drying, and maintain stable quality. After service, the used lining exhibits good structural integrity with easy dismantling, facilitating rapid turn-around.
